John Joseph Marino, 85, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

John was born in Blauvelt, New York, and spent the majority of his life in New York, where he grew up and built his life and family. In 2004 he and his beloved wife, Barbara, made South Carolina their home and settled in Fort Mill. John and Barbara shared 63 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and countless memories.

John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a man of strong faith and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.

John’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his sons, Ron Marino and his wife, Laura, and Bill Marino and his wife, Stephanie; and his grandchildren, Brianna, Michael, Alyssa, and Nicholas.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, John was the kind of grandfather who showed up. He was there for every moment, milestone, celebration, game, performance, and important occasion in the lives of his children and grandchildren. His love was shown through his presence, his support, and his unwavering dedication to his family. They always knew they could count on him to be there.

John was also a lifelong and passionate New York Giants fan. His love for the Giants was a reflection of the New York roots that remained an important part of who he was throughout his life. John also had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the piano.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Jennie Marino, and his brother, Anthony Marino.

John will be remembered for his quiet strength and his devotion to his family, and most of all, for the countless ways he showed up for the people he loved. His presence was a constant in the lives of his family, and his absence will be deeply felt.

He leaves behind a family who was incredibly blessed to have him and who will carry his memory, his love, and the countless moments they shared with him for generations to come.

A service celebrating John’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

May he rest peacefully in the loving arms of God.
