Jesse was born in Grundy, VA, on March 1, 1934, and as the first child in the family to have been delivered by an actual doctor, Dr. Green, Green became Jesse's middle name.
After serving in the Korean War from 1952 - 1954, Jesse met the love of his life, Francis Stacy, and they were married in 1957. Fran and Jesse were inseparable for almost sixty-five years, with Fran preceding Jesse in death in 2022. Jesse is survived by his son, Hassell "Hack" Stacy.
After working in the coal industry in Grundy, VA, for ten years, Jesse and Fran moved the family to Alexandria, VA, in 1963, where Jesse drove a Metro Transit Bus in Washington, DC, for thirty years. During that time, he accumulated more than a million miles without a single accident.
Jesse loved the Lord and lived a humble life of faith through Jesus Christ. He loved all of God's creatures even to the point of carrying insects outside rather than harming them.
Jesse was very much loved and will be missed by his son, his daughter-in-law, his grandchildren and their spouses, his great-grandchildren, two great-granddaughters-in-law, and his nieces and nephews.
