Jesse William James

Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Jesse William James, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday, June 2, at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC with the Rev. Reggie Hopkins and Dr. Rev. Roger Brown. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road.

A native of Fort Mill, SC, Mr. James was a son of the late Dewey James and Clara James. He was a retired Crane Operator with AME, Inc. The most important aspect of his life was always his family. He will be remembered as an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with his Fort Mill buddies. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill and he loved his church family.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Connie James; a son, Christopher James; a daughter, Jessica Wiley (Jeremy); two brothers, Dewey James and Dennis James; a grandson, Kody James (Ashley); and a step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Wiley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill James and Tony James; and three sisters, Barbara Lowder, Linda Miller, and Deborah Small.
