Jerry A. Berry went home to be with the LORD on July 8th. Although there may be many things said about his earthly career and pursuits, the ONLY thing that matters is that he loved Jesus and the inerrant Word of God. His foremost desire was for his family and his friends to love Jesus and the Word of God too. Jerry's guiding verse is found in Micah 6:8: "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
He leaves behind his wife, Gwen, his children Kevin & Darlean Berry, Troy & Elizabeth Berry, Michelle and Matt Porter, Tommy & Pam Berry and Lorne and Misti James; siblings, Alvin & Helen Berry and Delores Ann White; his grandchildren, Ashlyn & Chad Stevens, Addison Berry, Logan & Faith James, Tyler, Dylan and Spencer Berry, Josh & Katie Berry, and his first great grandchild Beckham Stevens, as well as nieces and nephews. Upon his heavenly arrival Friday afternoon Jerry was greeted by his mother, his father, Jenny Berry and so many others.
The memorial service will be Tuesday, July 12th 6:00 p.m. at Steele Creek Church at Charlotte, 1929 Arrowood Rd. There is a ministry & family that Jerry respected a great deal because of their integrity and the tremendous impact they are having to the Lakota Sioux on Pine Ridge Reservation. So, if you desire, in lieu of flowers a donation could be made by check to Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, in the memo line write Wade McHargue Ministry and mailed to 938 Walnut Avenue, Hot Springs, SD 57747.
