Janine Marie Detillio Jankowski

Fort Mill, SC . born in Cleveland, OH to parents Richard and Josephine DeTillio, passed in her home on January 24th, 2024.

Together for 34 years, Janine met her husband Jeff Jankowski, in Akron, OH, April of 1987, where they were soon married the following year. The pair had two children, Christine, and Jack Jankowski. They have been reunited beyond Earth, as Jeff passed from his battle with Alzheimer’s on May 13th, 2022, along with both of their parents.

Janine was one of the most vivacious and endearing people you have ever met. While her husband stood by as the strong, silent type, Janine could be found bouncing from person to person, always creating relationships and friendships everywhere she went.

She was fiercely dedicated to raising her two children, sacrificing much as most stay-at-home Mother’s do. She attended Soccer, Swimming, Baseball, Softball, Football, Cross Country, Ballet, Gymnastics, you name it. Outside of her love for her children, Janine enjoyed gardening, cooking recipes passed down from generations, cheering for Ohio State and the Brownies, attending live music, decorating, and relishing time in the sun whether at the Pool or Beach.

‘Nina’ will always be remembered for her smile, laugh, the way she could speak to you like she’s known you forever, her beauty as a fiery red head with green eyes, and the love she had to give to all who crossed her path.

Her legacy lives on through her Children, Bill Jankowski, Christine Jankowski, Jack Jankowski, her Siblings, Richard DeTillio, Michelle Gibson and Robert DeTillio, and all that knew her at her Best.
