Janice Marie
Parris Bell
Jun 13, 1957 — Oct 2, 2026
Rock Hill
Mrs. Janice Marie Parris Bell, age 69, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at her home in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Mrs. Bell was born in Cherokee County, South Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Fred R. Parris, Sr. and Irene Williams Parris. She was of the Baptist faith.
Janice was the baby of nine children and, as any of her siblings would have agreed, she was the most petted of them all. That remained true throughout her entire life.
The day Janice met the love of her life was the day fate stepped in. While visiting her sister’s house, a handsome young man rolled up to pick up his sister, who was a friend of her niece. There was no denying the spark between them. That chance meeting began a love story that lasted 49 years, until she was called home to Heaven surrounded by those she loved.
Janice was blessed with one son and found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Her family brought her many cherished memories and countless reasons to smile. She was blessed to be a homemaker and found her greatest happiness in being with her family and making memories together.
The beach was her happy place. Family trips to the beach brought her great joy, and those memories remained among the things she treasured most. If there is a beach in Heaven, she is surely strolling along the sandy shores.
Janice was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Parris, Fred R. Parris, Jr., Jackie R. Parris, Carl L. Parris, and Buddy Lee Parris; and her sisters, Diann Corder and Nona Hines.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Bell; her son, Tommy Bell (Nikki); her grandchildren, Lucas Bell, Darin Bell, and Victoria Byrd (TJ); her great-grandchild, Leonidas Byrd; a grandchild on the way, whom she lovingly referred to as “Buttercup”; and her brother, Bobbie Parris (Joanne).
Janice’s greatest joy was her family. The love she shared with them, the memories they made together, and the happiness she brought into their lives will remain with them forever.
Services for Mrs. Bell will be held privately, with a beloved family friend officiating.
