Obituary

Janet Schneider, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, unexpectedly passed away on May 13, 2026.

Born in Hawaii on July 7, 1947, Janet spent much of her childhood traveling the world with her family while her father served in the United States Navy. Those early experiences gave her a deep appreciation for people, family, and the memories made together. The family eventually settled in Rock Hill, where she attended Rock Hill High School and later graduated from Winthrop University.

Above all else, Janet was devoted to her family. She would do anything for the people she loved and was happiest when caring for others, offering support, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her kindness, strength, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

Janet dedicated many years of her life to a long and meaningful career as a teacher, where she touched the lives of countless students with her patience, compassion, and encouragement. She retired from Fort Mill Middle School after many years of service and was deeply appreciated by both her students and colleagues. Janet was also a devoted member of her church community and a follower of Jesus Christ. She found great comfort, strength, and joy in her faith throughout her life.

She had a creative spirit and found great happiness in knitting and crafting. Whether making handmade gifts or creating beautiful keepsakes, she poured love into everything she created. One of her greatest joys was caring for others through the things she made with her hands. Every new baby welcomed by family or friends was sure to receive a lovingly handmade blanket or “lovey,” crafted with care and given from the heart. Her thoughtful creations became treasured keepsakes for many families through the years.

She is survived by her devoted husband, George Schneider and dog Waffles; her three loving children, Chris Pawloski, Stan Pawloski, and Marie Jones; her seven cherished grandchildren; and her siblings, Susan Gibson, Glenn Roberts, and Bonnie Lemhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Macy Roberts, and her brother, Bob Roberts. She also leaves behind extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Janet will be remembered for her loving heart, creative hands, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

A service will be held at 2 pm on May 19, 2026:

College Park Baptist Church

1209 Eisenhower Road

Rock Hill, SC 29732
