James Eric
Holder
November 23, 1966 – April 22, 2026
James Eric Holder, age 59, lived a life defined by devotion to his family, his faith, and the simple joys that brought him closer to others. Born on November 23, 1966, Eric passed away on April 22, 2026, after a long journey with illness.
A devoted husband, Eric shared a loving marriage with Theresa Holder. Together, they built a life centered on compassion and care, including helping to raise and support Theresa’s son, Joshua. James was a proud father to Lindsey and Ethan and a caring stepfather to his wife’s four children. His legacy continues through his three grandsons and two granddaughters, who brought him immense pride and happiness. Eric is also survived by his father and five siblings, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Eric was a man of many talents and passions. He was a skilled potter and baker, always creating with his hands and sharing his gifts with others. An avid golfer and PGA professional for over 20 years, he found great joy on the course and was a devoted fan of the Masters. Whether perfecting his swing or watching his favorite players, golf was one of his greatest pleasures.
Known for his warm and outgoing nature, Eric could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. He often reminded those around him that “A hug is the best medicine,” a phrase that reflected his generous spirit and the comfort he gave so freely. His kindness and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He also cherished the companionship of his beloved Boston Terrier, Smokey Bear, his faithful and constant friend.
A Christian man of strong faith, Eric believed deeply in his Lord and Savior. He found comfort in knowing that he is now free from pain and reunited in eternal peace. His faith guided him throughout his life and brought him strength during his illness.
Eric will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the love he shared so freely.
