IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Thomas
Cook
April 22, 1964 – March 21, 2026
Visitation
James “JT” Cook, born on April 22, 1964, lived with a big heart and a love for the simple things. He was the life of every party, and he found joy in the small moments: a good joke, a pool game, a cold drink, and time with family.
He was a devoted husband to Cindy, a loving dad to his children, and an amazing PawPaw to his grandchildren. He cared deeply for family and friends, and his warmth could brighten any room with a single line, “How do you like me now, cotton?”
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters, Brittany Gaskins (Derick) and Erica Bazarnyj (Brian); sister, Lynette Therrian; brother, John Cook (Karen); mother, Bessie Pressley; and grandchildren, Cameron, Bently, Brooklyn, and Maxton. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Cook and his father, Harry Cook.
JT will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and his noodle-and-tomato dish that fed those he loved. Budweiser was a favorite, so much so that the family named their dog Bud. He cherished simple pleasures and cherished moments with friends and family.
We will miss you and love you forever — from rattlesnake, moonpie, and Cindy.
Receiving of Family and Friends will be held on March 26th from 6–8 pm at Whitesell Funeral, where we’ll share stories and memories of a man who truly lived life to the fullest.
Whitesell Funeral Home is serving the Cook family.
