Jacqueline Norman Nichols

Jacqueline Norman Nichols “Jackie” 87, of York, SC went to be with the Lord on Friday November 28, 2025. She was born on March 6, 1938, in York, SC daughter of late Dover Norman and Myrtle Norman. 

She graduated with the Class of 1959 at York General Nursing School. She was employed at York General Hospital/Piedmont Medical Center from graduation until her retirement in 2004. She gave 45 years of service to the hospital and was a nursing supervisor at retirement. After retirement, she was a volunteer with P.A.T.H. in York.

She was a member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church in York and a Member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dover and Myrtle Norman of York, SC, her husband Earl Mason Nichols of York, SC, and her daughter Elizabeth Nichols Gibson of York, SC.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Joey Gibson, and grandchildren, Tyler, Alanna, and Keely Gibson of York, SC. Her sisters Lucille Robinson of Rock Hill, SC, Judy Jones of Matthews, NC, and Linda Glass of San Jose, CA. 

Family will receive visitors and other family members following the service at the church. The service will be on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11 am at Tirzah Presbyterian Church, 180 Tirzah Rd, York, SC. The burial will be adjacent to the church following the service. 

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations should be made to York Technical College Foundation. Donations can be mailed to York Technical College Foundation at 452 South Anderson Rd, Rock Hill, SC, or emailed to YorkTech.edu/donate. Please designate for the nursing program in memory of Jacqueline “Jackie” Nichols.
