Jaclyn Jean (Hackenberg) Pobiega, 36 passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Born in Barberton, OH, the daughter of Diana and Lynn Hackenberg of Milford, OH. She graduated from Milford High School in Milford, Ohio in 1995 and from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University, 1999 with a B.S. in Journalism, where she met her husband Michael. Jaclyn was a Girl Scout, High School color guard member and a writer and editor for her High School newspaper, Southeast Ohio Magazine, Cincinnati Parents Magazine and hundreds of internet web sites and articles. After several moves across the country, Jaclyn and Michael settled in Charlotte in 2004 and recently moved to the Massey neighborhood, Fort Mill, SC in September 2013. Jaclyn had been a Media Specialist for Continental Tire, Commercial Vehicle Group in Fort Mill since March 2009. She was a devoted friend to many in the online community including fellow aviation wives, new mothers, neighbors and colleagues. Jaclyn was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Doris Goode and Erleene and Luther Herr, all of Barberton, OH and Celia and Joseph Pobiega and Rose and George Jankowski, all of Cleveland,OH. Jaclyn is survived by her loving husband Michael, children Robert (age 6) and Ellen (age 2), parents Diana and Lynn Hackenberg of Milford, OH, sisters Jennifer (Jason) Yoder, Kim Hatton, niece Olivia Hatton, parents in-law Thomas and Rose Marie Pobiega of Solon, OH, sister in-law Melissa (Marin) Kos and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held and the Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Dr., Fort Mill, SC 29708. There will be visitations Sunday, April 6 2014 from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm. A funeral service will start at 10am Monday, April 7, 2014 at Palmetto Funeral Home with interment following at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill, SC. There will be a reception at the Massey neighborhood clubhouse following the burial. All are welcomed to attend. A memorial page is being written on Facebook where memories can be shared.
