Hassie Hefner Starnes

Rock Hill – Mrs.  Hassie Hefner Starnes, 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Eugene (Gene) Starnes; a son, Robert A (Bob) Starnes; two sisters, Lottie Hefner Thomas and Ruby Hough Blackwelder; a brother, Robert L Hough as well as her parents, Raymond A Hefner and Viola Mackey Hefner; and step-mother, Hassie Boatwright Hefner.

Survivors include her daughter, Vivian Ferrell and her husband, Ed ; grandchildren, Jamie Ferrell and his wife, Jacki Ferrell, Melissa Boatwright and her husband, Eddie, and Jason Starnes and his wife, Sara; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hough Minton and Annie Hefner George; and numerous nieces and nephew.

A private graveside service will be held at Catawba Baptist Church where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
