Gordon Estel Smith

Gordon E. Smith, 86, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center. Born in Watson, Missouri, Mr. Smith was the son of the late H. Raymond and Susan Esther Smith. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Mr. Smith enjoyed sports including golf, fishing, and baseball. He attended Kingdom Life Church in Fort Mill, SC. He is survived by his son, James H. Smith of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, Gerald R. Smith of Oregon; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Smith will be held 2pm Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Cherry Laurel Apartments Clubhouse, 107 Hardin St. Rock Hill, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
