Celebration of Life
Gina Yarnes August 5, 1972 – June 21, 2025
Passed peacefully surrounded by her family
Today we remember and honor the beautiful life of Gina Yarnes—a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love. On the evening of June 21, 2025, Gina went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her husband and sons in a time of prayer and worship. After a two-year battle with colon cancer, she finished her race with courage, grace, and an unshakable trust in her Savior.
Born on August 5, 1972, to Michael and Gail McCrory, Gina lived a life marked by compassion, purpose, and service. She and her husband, David Yarnes, were married for 34 years, sharing a calling to ministry and missions. From their earliest days together, they served on short-term mission trips, beginning in Mexico, and eventually stepped into pastoral leadership. Together, they planted New Life Christian Fellowship in Jamestown, New York, a church aligned with DOVE Christian Fellowship International and helped to establish the Crown Theater.
Gina and her husband, David, were blessed with three sons: Matthew, Nathan, and Samuel. Gina had a profound love for her boys, and one of the greatest gifts she gave them was a shared heart for service. Her passion for global missions led her to places like Africa, India, and Peru, where she helped build orphanages, daycare centers, and micro-lending programs. But she didn’t go alone—Gina often brought her sons with her, inviting them into a life of purpose and compassion. Together, they experienced the joy of serving others, meeting real needs with practical help rooted in love.
Closer to home, Gina made a meaningful impact in her local community as a dedicated soccer coach across several South Carolina leagues. Her influence went far beyond the field; she instilled values of character, confidence, and teamwork in every player she coached. For Gina, coaching wasn’t just about the game, it was about shaping lives. Her leadership left a lasting impression on many young athletes.
Gina also played a key role in helping to establish Hear His Heart Ministries, a local outreach that provided character development and mentoring to middle school students. Her desire was to help young people discover their identity and worth, especially during their most formative years.
Throughout her life, Gina faithfully stood by her husband as they pioneered initiatives that blended kingdom vision and business leadership. She played a vital role in supporting the work of Morningstar Ministries, and in more recent years, supported her husband in his work with Lance Wallnau Ministries. Gina’s steady presence helped shape and sustain the work behind the scenes—always with humility, discernment, and grace.
Gina’s life reflected a quiet strength and a deep trust in God. She created a joyful and peaceful home, invested in others generously, and carried her faith into every season of life. Even in suffering, she remained anchored in hope.
As Scripture reminds us in Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Gina’s life touched many, and her legacy will live on through the people and ministries she helped nurture.
She is survived by her husband, David Yarnes; their three sons, Matthew Yarnes and his wife Mercy (Munyanya), Nathan Yarnes and his wife Lené (Jordaan), and Samuel Yarnes. She is also survived by her precious grandson, Thomas Nathan Yarnes, the son of Nathan and Lené. She leaves behind her loving parents, Gail and Michael McCrory; her siblings; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
