Gerald Lloyd Robbie Roberts, Jr., 57, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on May 18, 1967, in York, South Carolina, Gerald’s journey was one marked by creativity, service, and quiet devotion.

A proud graduate of Indian Land High School’s Class of 1985, Gerald found his calling in the restaurant industry, where he became a familiar face and steady leader as a manager at Showbiz. Later in life, he channeled his dedication into meaningful work as Planning and Development Manager at Crossroads Rescue Mission.

Art flowed from Gerald’s hands with grace—his drawings and paintings bore witness to a vivid inner world. Music also stirred his soul, offering him both solace and joy throughout the years.

He is deeply remembered by his father, Gerald L. Roberts Sr.; sisters Heather Parker and Christa Gibbs; brother-in-law Frank Gibbs; nieces and nephews Emily Parker, Logan Parker, Benjamin Gibbs, Janna Gibbs, Joshua Gibbs, and Rebekah Gibbs; and great-nephew Briar Clark.

Gerald now joins those who went before him: his mother, Jan Wilson Roberts; paternal grandparents John and Hazel Roberts; and maternal grandparents Albert Leon and Virginia “Jean” Wilson.

A private family graveside service will be held on May 18, 2025, at Unity Cemetery on Tom Hall Street in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Gerald’s life echoed with faith—in every brushstroke of his art, every act of care in his work, every note of music that lifted his spirit. May he rest now in peace and light everlasting.
