Gary James Pettit, Sr.

Gary J. Pettit 70, of Lancaster, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday June 15, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care in Rock Hill, SC. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Verna Mae Pettit; son, Gary J. Pettit Jr. (Lynn), son Mark Pettit (Michelle), daughter Angela M. Pettit (Steven), daughter Andrea Skidmore (Barry); and blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren who loved him dearly. Gary retired from Kandefer Plumbing and Heating after 46 years of hard-work. He was a thoughtful, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, bird watcher and stock car/racing enthusiast. A celebration of his life will be held Friday June 21 from 2:00-9:00pm at Lancaster Community Baptist Church, 520 Ransom Road Lancaster, NY 14086 followed by a going home service Saturday June 22 at 11:00am at the same location.
