Dr. Gary Don McGinnis, 74, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away at home on August 21, 2026 surrounded by family.

Born on March 3, 1952, in Dover, New Jersey, Gary was the beloved son of Rose Theresa Marotta & Charles Don Stucchio, and step-father Albert McGinnis. He graduated from Montclair State University and then Life Chiropractic College before opening his own practice in Port Huron, MI, where he served the community for many years.

Gary will be remembered for his positive energy, kindness, humor, the life and laughter he brought to the people he mentored, his generosity, strength, devotion to his family, his faith and his incredible hair. He found great joy in golfing, practicing martial arts, playing piano, writing, traveling and gardening. Above all, Gary cherished his wife Joey and the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife Jo Ann Marie McGinnis, son Gary James McGinnis, his daughter Stephanie Faith Christy (Brent Joseph Christy), and grandchildren Samson and Luca.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 11 am at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Undue Medical Debt in Gary’s memory.

Gary will be deeply missed and dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
