Garrett Jason Simmers

York – Mr. Garrett Jason Simmers, also known as “Goat”, died on Friday, October 23, 2020, at his home.

A graveside will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 30, 2020, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cemetery, 1989 Reservation Road, Road Hill, SC.

A native of Rock Hill, SC Mr. Simmers was a son of the late Grant Junior Simmers and Marie Rebecca Sanders Simmers.  He was employed as a roofer and vinyl siding installer.  He loved to play softball and pitch horseshoes.  He was a member of the Catawba Indian Nation.

Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Simmers Norton and her husband, Richard; a brother, Danny Simmers and wife Eva; two sisters, Pam “Pat” Hawkins and Beckee Garris; four grandchildren; and 2 greatgrandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Simmers was preceded in death by a son, Jason Edward Simmers; four brothers, Jimmy Simmers, Rocky Simmers, Garold Simmers, and Clifford Simmers; and a sister, Midge Brown.
