Evelyn Dennis Perry

Evelyn “Eve” Dennis Perry, 93, went to her forever home in heaven on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

A Graveside service will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Cemetery of the Good Shepherd (formally Zoar UMC), 13611 Zoar Road, Charlotte, NC, 28278, with the Rev. Larry Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends at other times at Evelyn's home.

Evelyn was born on January 8, 1932, in Oglethorpe, Georgia to the late Rev. William E. Dennis and Leola P. Dennis. She graduated from Emory University in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and worked in Durham, NC before moving to Charlotte. She was married to her late husband, Walter “Buddy” Perry for 44 years, who preceded her in death in 2000. She was a member of Pineville United Methodist Church in Pineville, NC for over 60 years. In January 2012, determined to have one less item on her “bucket list”, Evelyn went skydiving in Chester, SC, for her 80th birthday, having the time of her life! She enjoyed it so much, she went two more times, once in Myrtle Beach and another in Fayetteville, NC. Earlier in her life, she enjoyed traveling and camping, surf and pier fishing with her late husband and mowing and taking care of her lawn and garden. She went back into nursing after raising her two daughters, working the Maternity/Neonatal unit at York General Hospital in Rock Hill, SC.

Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Sandy (Chuck) Wilson, Patti (Eddie) Cribb; her twin brothers, William (Helen/deceased) Dennis, Willard (Patricia) Dennis; her four grandchildren, Tiffany (Keith) Bioletti, Rebekah (Adam) McClary, Travis (Kaylan) Wilson, Brittany (Daniel) Newell; eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
