Eva Jeanette (Mcwatters) Simmers

Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Eva Jeanette McWatters Simmers, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2023.

A memorial service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Orrs Baptist Church, 1266 Lancaster Highway, Chester, SC 29706, with the Revs Daniel Wightman and Curtis Marshall officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

A native of Rock Hill, SC Mrs. Simmers was a daughter of the late Johnny James Alexander McWatters and Bessie Jeanette Quinton McWatters.  Eva was a proud member of Knox Station Family Band. She was a faithful lifelong member of Orrs Baptist Church, Chester, SC.

Surviving are her husband, Daniel Taylor Simmers; four children, Daniel R. Simmers, Shelly Sikes, Sarita J. Simmers, and Stacey J Simmers; a brother, Jessie Harold McWatters; 7 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by 8 brothers, James T. McWatters, Clarence A. McWatters, Dewey L. McWatters, Albert E. McWatters, Carl J. McWatters, Bob McWatters, Gene McWatters, and Grady McWatters; two sisters, Hazel (Lib) King and Minnie L. McWatters; and a grandson, M. Jason Tadlock.
