Edward John Gay, age 78, passed away on December 30, 2025.
Most Bogus.
Born on December 29, 1947, Ed lived a life filled with music, adventure and love.
Known to many as “Captain Eddie” he had a love for the water, and for speed, whether at home or visiting the beach. You could find him by locating an array of beautiful kites & windsocks.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Gay, his brother, Greg Gajdacek, and sister-in-law Laura Gajdacek.
He is survived by his wife Marcia Gay; his son, Andrew Gay and wife Staci Gay; his step-daughter, Tonya Murner and husband David Murner; and his niece, Andrea Gajdacek.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Andersen & husband Christian Andersen, Joseph Mason, James Guyette, Dakota Guyette, Caitlin Gay, Makenna Gay, and Bryce Murner; and his great-grandchildren, Emmerson Andersen and Paul Andersen.
Ed had many stories to tell of the life he lived, of surfing, of racing, of the many people he met along the way, and his storytelling was unparalleled.
Ed’s love of caring for others translated to his role as “grill master extraordinaire”, as he was always ready to put some something on the grill.
His family will miss his sharp wit and sage advice, but most of all his love for them. Ed went out of his way to care for those he loved, and his memory will live on through the family & friends he leaves behind.
