Donald Stanley

Rock Hill-- A service for Donald Winston Stanley, 75, of Rock Hill, will be held Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 4;00pm in the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation immediately following. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Stanley died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. He was born February 11, 1940 in Roanoke, VA to the late Helen Beatrice (Vandergrift) and Elmer Bascom Stanley. He was a member of the Disciple of Christ Christian Church all his life, and served in the US Army from 1963 to 1966. Mr. Stanley loved woodworking and music, and sang with the Lighthouse Singers and the Carolina Chordsmen. He is survived by: His wife: Katherine (Brainard), whom he married on May 15, 1967; sons: Kevin (Vicki) Stanley, of Camden, Keith (Melissa) Stanley. of Rock Hill; daughters: Kimberly Hopkins, of Rock Hill, Kelly (Michael) Lynah, Rock Hill sister: Wanda McMaHon, of PA; and 9 grandchildren. Along with her parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Thomas (Bud) Stanley.
