Donald Lewis Morgan, 63, of Fort Mill, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2026.
Don was born on October 11, 1962, in Madison, Wisconsin. Later the family moved to Texas and Montana. He grew up in Great Falls, where he built the foundation of a life defined by strength, loyalty, and heart. A gifted and passionate athlete, Don was the kind of competitor who could hit towering home runs, intercept passes with ease, and humble you on the tennis court. He held the CM Russell High School record for most interceptions in a season for more than 40 years — a testament to his determination and talent.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Don was quiet, steady, and always willing to lend a hand. He loved fiercely — his family, his friends, and his teams. He proudly cheered for Charlotte FC, New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Carolina Panthers — as long as they weren’t playing against the Cowboys.
Don found joy in giving back, coaching youth baseball and tennis, and investing in others the same encouragement and confidence he carried himself. He enjoyed his work at Brighthouse Financial, where his colleagues became like family and where he took pride in keeping everyone connected.
Above all, Don was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Morgan; his sons, Chase Morgan and Conner Morgan; and his adored granddaughter, Mia Morgan, whom he loved “beyond the moon and back.” He is also survived by his siblings: Gale Morgan (Amer Saleh), Gwennie, and Charles Morgan (Deanna), an Aunt Marnita Orr and several nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Lonnie Morgan.
Lisa will forever cherish the life they built together — the road trips, jigsaw puzzles, Legos, softball games, tennis matches, ping pong battles, pool games, gym sessions, hikes, movies, shared laughter and tears. Most of all, she will miss his love, his protection, and their sunsets together.
The family is deeply grateful for the overwhelming kindness and love that has surrounded them during this difficult time. A special thank you to the first responders and neighbors who embraced the family with compassion and care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 24th at Palmetto Funeral Home. In accordance with Don’s wishes, his ashes will be scattered off Catalina Island during a private memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Second Harvest Food Bank.
