Don Linsz

Donald Walter Linsz, born June 3, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 28 after a life devoted to faith, family, and ministry. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara, who passed away twelve years ago. She was not only his life partner but his best friend and greatest supporter.

Don leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Mark (Becky) Linsz, Nancy (Derrick) Dempsey, Dan (Corrie) Linsz, Tom Linsz, and Tim Linsz. His 12 grandchildren—Emily, Ashley, Anna, Graham, Ellie, Josiah, Tyler, Josh, Sam, Amos, Annie, and Chandler—were his pride and joy, and he deeply treasured every moment spent with them.

A dedicated pastor and missionary, Don’s calling led him to churches in Ohio, New York, and North Carolina, as well as to colleges in Ethiopia and Liberia, where he served with SIM and African Bible College as Dean of Students. His ministry touched lives across continents, and through his leadership and compassion, he helped foster Christian education and spiritual growth in places of great need. His work contributed to the enduring mission of African Bible College, an institution focused on developing Christian leaders to serve in Africa and beyond. After serving in ministry overseas, Don and Barb continued to serve in ministry in the US, recruiting and training new missionaries.

Don and Barb’s final work together was authoring “Miracle Beans and the Golden Book” about God’s faithfulness and their adventures in Africa. Outside his ministry, Don was an enthusiastic sports fan, with a particular fondness for the Atlanta Braves. Above all, he cherished the time spent with God and with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 10 am, October 3, 2025, at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made African Bible College 5343 Clinton Blvd, Jackson MS 39209, supporting the continued impact of Christian education and missions that Don so passionately championed.
