Donald Edward Chantemerle, Sr.

Donald "Big D" E. Chantemerle, age 72, passed away Tuesday April 8, 2014 with his family by his side. On December 18th, 1941 in Passaic, NJ he was born and adopted by Pierre and Adelaide Chantemerle. He served as an MP Captain in the US Army with posts in NYC and Paris, France with NATO. He was a professional recruiter for the computer chip industry, who helped 1000's of people get jobs. He had two stints with PRC in Phoenix, AZ and worked for Digital and Raytheon in MA. He touched a lot of people in his life and never met a stranger. In his youth he was an athlete. He loved all things baseball and played professional hockey for the Long Island Ducks while obtaining a BA at Hofstra University. He was a softball pitchers well into his 40's and threw a dropping left handed slider. He loved jokes and pranks and disliked rules that made no sense. He loved, he lived, he laughed and he was not afraid to cry. We will miss him with all of our hearts. Don is survived by his first wife Darleen (Moroney) and their son Don Jr. and his wife Joanna (Doxey); his two grandchildren Hollyn and Trent. The love of his life was second wife Karen (Hedin) and his friends too numerous to count. At his request no funeral service will be held, please direct any donations to the Humane Society and please adopt a rescue pet like he would.
