Dan Fratila, 65, passed away on October 31, 2025. He was born on February 12, 1960, in Luduș, Romania.
He was the most loving husband and dad, and is survived by his wife Cristina and children Robert and Brianna. He had the biggest and kindest heart and was always there for the people he loved. He helped everyone in his life without expecting anything in return. Dan always put his family first. From Romania to the UK to Canada to the U.S. over the span of 30+ years, he left everything behind with each move for the chance to provide the best life for his family.
His family was most important to him and he will forever be remembered as a hard working, selfless, and charismatic husband and dad. He was the center of every party and loved sharing stories with all those around him, even if he had told those stories many times before. He especially loved to tell stories about how proud he was of his children.
While he may have had some strong preferences (for food and ways of doing things), he surrounded himself with people who pushed him out of his comfort zone to experience everything life has to offer. He was very proud to have seen so much of the world, try so many fancy restaurants, and ski on some of the finest mountains.
Dan loved to play card games with family and friends, to go camping, to baby his many orchids, and to sunbathe at the beach while feasting on crab legs to end the day. His love of slanina and mamaliga was unrivaled. With his family always by his side, he went on countless adventures that he never would have dreamed of. While he won’t be physically present, we will continue to take him with us on new adventures and to places we loved visiting together.
There are no words to describe how much we love you and miss you. Please have peace knowing we are always with you and will carry you in our hearts forever.
We love you, Daddy. I love you, Şoricel.
