Obituary

Daniel McClain Kinard, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 15, 2026.

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Daniel lived a life firmly rooted in his faith. While he was a devoted husband, father, and friend, his truest identity was found in Jesus Christ. This was evident in both his words and his actions, as he faithfully lived out his beliefs each day. He was known as a prayer warrior who loved deeply, served humbly, and shared tirelessly about the saving grace of Jesus with all who crossed his path. Daniel had a special passion for evangelism and was rarely without a Christian tract in hand, faithfully giving them to nearly everyone he encountered as a way to point others to Christ.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Kinard; his mother, Larue Nordan Kinard; his brothers, Clyde Kinard and David Kinard; and his sister, Jeanette Moya-Mendez.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda Kinard, the love of his life, and his son, Danny Kinard.

Daniel owned and operated an automotive repair business prior to his retirement. He was also a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina, since 2000.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation immediately following.

“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

— Romans 10:9–10
