Dallas
Lott
April 18, 1947 – May 17, 2026
In loving memory of Dallas Lott, who passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026. Dallas was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend whose kindness and love touched everyone around her.
Dallas Raye Hollowell was born on April 18, 1947, in Norfolk County, Virginia, to Marian and Dalton Hollowell. She was the middle of three children and grew up in Portsmouth, where she built many lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas Lott; her daughter, Regina Schuhmacher, and her husband, Andreas, along with their children, Nicolas and Lucas; her son, Jason Lott, and his wife, Lisa, along with their children, Nathan and Paige; her brother, Ray Hollowell, and his wife, Donna, along with their children, Tracy and Andrew; her brother-in-law, Randy Roper, along with his children, Laura and Randolph; and her nieces and nephews, Christy, Rebecca, and Andy Lott, Joel Pitts, and Theresa Hahn.
Dallas later moved to Midlothian, Virginia, where she and Tom raised their family. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she enthusiastically served as a second-grade Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years. She also dedicated time as a Girls Auxiliary teacher and found great joy in working with children. Dallas loved to sing and dance and was a lifelong member of her church choir, where she joyfully shared her faith and love of music with others.
Professionally, Dallas worked as a buyer and item manager at the Defense Supply Center Richmond, where she built a successful career before retiring. In 2009, Dallas and Tom relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be closer to family and help care for their grandchildren, a role she treasured deeply.
Dallas found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with family, sharing laughter with her grandchildren, enjoying large family meals, taking beach vacations in the Outer Banks, and relaxing on her porch with her beloved dog, Nikki, while admiring her flowers and backyard garden.
Dallas will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought into every room. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear."
