Colton Thomas Brown, age 18, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on February 20, 2026
Born on October 7, 2007 to Daniel and Melissa Brown. Colton was a Senior at Catawba Ridge High School. He was known by his friends and family for his warm smile, caring nature, and his ability to make people laugh
Colton was in the top 15% of his 2026 class, leading to admission to the Beta Club, earning several graduation cords for his honors classes, and AP classes
Colton had a passion for playing on his Xbox and his newly built gaming PC, which he bought component by component and built himself. Colton also enjoyed fishing and working towards becoming an Eagle Scout, which he accomplished on August 6, 2025. Colton was in the 1% of Boy Scouts that earned the Eagle Scout Rank and Bronze, Gold, and Silver Palms, which is an exceptionally rare achievement. Colton and his father joined Boy Scout Troop 108 in December2019. During his Boy Scout career he held several roles in the Troop including Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. Colton’s favorite activity while in the Boy Scout’s was the opportunity to go Sea Base in the Florida Keys twice, which is one of the Boy Scout’s High Adventure Bases
Whether he was playing video games with his friends, or camping with the Boy Scout Troop, he brought a unique, calming energy to everything he did. He loved his dog Scout, his family, and his friends dearly. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled
Colton is survived by his parents, Daniel and Melissa Brown; his sister, Lauren Brown; grandfathers, Samuel Brown, and David Burnette; Uncle Curtis Burnette, Aunt Cassie Burnette, cousins Elijah Burnette and Isabelle Todd; Aunt Laura Hawk, Uncle Doug Hawk, cousins Brayton Hardin, and Hayes Hardin; Aunt Julie Brown, cousins Timmy White, Nick White, and Hunter Dyrda.
Colton was preceded in death by grandmothers, Janet Brown, Geraldine Burnette, and Jean Brown
A viewing will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 26th. The service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Sanctuary in Fort Mill ,SC at 1:00 pm Friday, February 27th. Light refreshments will be served in the gathering space after the Funeral Mass
