Carole W. Burnes, 74, lifelong resident of Rock Hill, died December 22, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was a Winthrop University graduate and used her passion to impact children by teaching for 43 years full time and then 6 more years substituting after her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Billy Franklin Burnes; 2 daughters, Susan Burnes Gillian (Harry), LeeAnn Burnes Howington (Marty); 4 grandchildren, Logan Seay (Casey), Garrett Gillian (Kristen), Drew Howington (Brittani), Summer Gillian; a sister, Jean Ringstaff; a great-grandchild, Ridge Seay. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 at 11am in the Laurelwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to www.campchemo.com or to the Lakewood Baptist Church.
