Carmine Sabato, 103 years young, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026.

He was born on July 16, 1922 to the late Antonio Sabato and Angelina (Schepisi) Sabato. The sixth of eight children, Carmine was preceded in death by his siblings John, Tony, Anna (Caldarola), Bartholomew, Joseph, Salvatore and Jennie (Martino).

He proudly served during WWII from 1943-1945 as a U.S. Army Private First Class Cannoneer- Battery A- 980th Field Artillery Battalion. His unit participated in “Operation Overlord “, the invasion of Normandy.

On May 5th, 1946, Carmine married his true love, Katherine Mongeluzzo. They were married for 67 years until her death in 2013. Carmine is survived by his two sons, Anthony (Catherine2021) and John(Valerie), grandchildren CarrieAnn, Gregory (Micki) and Carly, great grandchildren Allison, Owen, Gavin and Gabriella”Gigi”. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who absolutely adored him.

A Celebration of Life will take place locally before his cremains are transported to NY for burial with his beloved Katie.
