Obituary

Burrell Orbin Blanton “Junior”, 81, of Fort Lawn, SC, peacefully passed away on June 13, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with Lewy body dementia.

Born on February 27, 1945, in Gastonia, NC, he was the son of the late Burrell & Mayola Blanton.

Junior spent his life building a legacy of hard work, kindness, and love. He retired as a welder at American Barmag, where he was known for his quality work, strong work ethic, and always a sense of humor.

Beyond his professional life, he was an avid outdoorsman. His true joy was being outdoors, hunting, target practice, fishing, or riding his tractor. He was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He was always planning the next cook-out.

He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a protective brother, and a loyal friend. His family will forever cherish his love of family, amazing strength, and constant humor.

He is survived by his loving wife Rhonda, his children, Tammy Wells, Chris Blanton, Todd Blanton, and Anna Lisa Blanton; He passionately loved his twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. his brothers, Terry & Ricky: Sisters, Glenda, Rita, and Kathy; and a large circle of extended family and close friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Brown, his parents, and four siblings.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 9:30 am at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Heckle Blvd. Rock Hill, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
