Bruce Thomas Gibson, Sr., age 91, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026. 

Born on June 16, 1935 in Albemarle, NC, Bruce met his soulmate, Dorothy “Dot” Allen, and they married as he joined the US Navy where he proudly served. The couple settled in Charlotte, NC where they raised their son Bruce Gibson, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife whom he had devoted his life to. He was happiest when he became a “Paw Paw” to his granddaughter, Rachel, and the two had a special bond.

Bruce is survived by his son, Bruce Gibson, Jr. and wife Suzie Gibson of Fort Mill, SC, granddaughter Rachel and husband Adam McInville, nieces and nephews Sherri, Tina, Brian, Trey, Julie, Drew and Weston.

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Atrium Health in Pineville for their kindness and dedication.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
