Obituary

Bradley Alan “Brad” Heitzmann, 50, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away on November 4, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He faced his illness with courage and steadfast faith, and celebrated his 50th birthday just weeks before his passing.

Born in Somerville, New Jersey, and raised in Old Bridge, Brad was a man with an open heart and an extraordinary mind. He seemed to know a little about just about everything, and he was highly regarded by those who knew and worked alongside him. But what truly set him apart was not what he knew or accomplished. It was who he was. He was kind and generous, and always willing to give of himself. Though he called himself an introvert, he treasured the memories made in the company of others.

Above all, Brad was devoted to his family. He and his wife, Lisa, shared 19 years of marriage built on love, loyalty, and an understanding that made them each other’s best friend. They balanced one another and cherished the life they built together. Brad was a proud father to their sons, Benjamin (17) and Samuel (15). He loved his boys beyond measure and was proud of the young men they were becoming.

Brad was also a true and faithful friend. He cultivated deep, lasting friendships, many spanning decades and miles, and he nurtured them with care, loyalty, and genuine interest. He showed up, he stayed in touch, and he never took those bonds for granted. His friends knew they could count on him, and they will feel his absence deeply.

Professionally, Brad spent more than 16 years with Ally Bank, most recently as Loan Review Executive. He loved his work and, even more, the people he worked with. He often spoke of his “Ally Family” and its culture of respect and genuine care, and he leaves behind many colleagues who were also dear friends.

The foundation of Brad’s life was his faith in Jesus Christ. He sought to live by the teachings of the Bible, and that faith showed in how he loved, gave, and served. He understood that life is measured not by accomplishments or possessions, but by how we treat the people God places in our lives.

He would never have called himself extraordinary, but to those who loved him, he was. His legacy lives on in the people he loved, the friendships he built, and the example he set of what it looks like to love Jesus and to love others.

Brad is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; his sons, Benjamin and Samuel; his mother, Sherri Heitzmann; his father, John Heitzmann; his sister, Kimberly; his nephew, Ty; his niece, Taryn; and extended family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched.

His life was a gift, his love a blessing, and his legacy will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Brad's life will be celebrated on November 14, 2026 at the Palmetto Funeral Home at 10:30am followed by a reception at the Pump House restaurant in Rock Hill, SC.
