Bradley (Brad) Jay Blanchard, 74, Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away at his home on August 25, 2026, under the exceptional care of Providence Care Hospice after a brief illness.

Brad was born September 4, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa. He was raised by mother Helen Sheehan and stepfather Raymond Sheehan, and by his father Bill Blanchard and stepmother Rita Blanchard. He graduated from Athens High School, Athens, Pennsylvania, in 1969. He married Esther Juda on July 30, 1972, in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

Brad served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1980 as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory Technician. He retired after 27 years from the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Illinois, where he worked as a Metrology and Calibration Technician, Equipment Specialist, and Systems Administrator. He earned a Masters of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Esther Blanchard; daughter Lisa Madish of Fort Mill, South Carolina; granddaughter Zoe Madish of Fort Mill, South Carolina; sister Marjorie Koziol of Woolwich Township, New Jersey; brothers Bruce Blanchard of Hawthorne, California; Brian Blanchard of Davenport, Iowa; R. Keith Sheehan of Pennsylvania; and Jerry Sheehan of Sayre, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Military honors will be held August 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, South Carolina. The family will receive guests after the graveside service in the Café area at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
