Fort Mill, SC - Mr. Billy Ray Haire passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. A lifelong native of Fort Mill, he was a son of the late Billy J. & Mary Parks Haire.

He was the owner and founder of Fort Mill Funeral Home. He attended Fort Mill schools and was a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service.

He was a member of Catawba Lodge #56 A.F.M.,  American Legion Post # 43, Fort Mill Moose lodge # 1240, a Shriner and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Mr. Haire was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Coggins Haire of the home; his son, Billy J. Haire (Brantlee) of Florence SC; daughter, Cathy Haire Poplin of Fort Mill; (special) daughter, Nikki Barfield; a sister, Roxanne Haire Nivens ( Richard); four grandchildren, Caleb Haire, Nikki Barfield (Brian), Kimberly Poplin, Tiffani Poplin; four great grandchildren, Cayden, Kenleigh, Braxton and Aria.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Larry Haire and Carl Haire; one sister, Priscilla Haire Putnum; and one nephew, Jeffrey Haire.

The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 pm on Saturday February 28, 2026, at Glenrock Baptist Church, a Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be private.
