Betty Shannon (Hoover) Hastings

Charlotte, NC - Ms. Betty Shannon Hoover Hastings, 78, died Thursday, June 8, 2023, at her home.

A native of Whiteville, NC, Ms. Hastings was the daughter of the late Rufus Gray Hoover and Charlotte Eva Burns Hoover.

Surviving is her son, Charles "Chuck" Hastings, of Charlotte;  and nephew Matthew Hoover, of White Lake, North Carolina.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Hastings Loring; and brother, Dr. Herbert Burns Hoover.

A retired elementary school teacher, Ms. Hastings touched the lives of thousands of children in the Charlotte area.

A private graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Jeffery McWatters.
