Celebrating a Life of Kindness, Joy, and Lasting Impact
Ashley Russell, beloved mother, daughter, friend, and community member from York, SC, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and cherished memories. Ashley was known for her radiant smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering support for those around her.
Ashley was a registered nurse who graduated from the University of South Carolina Lancaster in 2006, demonstrating her dedication to caring for others through her professional training and service.
Ashley’s children were the center of her universe, and nothing brought her greater joy than sharing laughter, love, and memorable moments with them and her family. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor—always ready with a witty remark or a playful joke to brighten someone’s day. Ashley’s artistic spirit shone through in her love for drawing and coloring, spending hours bringing her imagination to life on paper. She was quick to lend a hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply listen when someone needed support.
She was preceded in death by her loving stepmother, Libby Higginbotham; as well as by her cherished grandparents, George and Claire Jacobs, Darlene Stalling, and BJ Higginbotham. Their memories remain an enduring part of Ashley’s story, and she is now reunited with them in peace
Ashley is survived by her beloved sons, Jayden, Jeffery, and Waylon; as well as her cherished daughter, Anna. She leaves behind her devoted mother, Robin Higginbotham Herrera; her stepfather, Luis Herrera; and her father, Ricky Higginbotham. Ashley’s memory will also be treasured by her sister, Samantha Jenkins; brother-in-law, Dennis Jenkins; and her nephews, Jhace and Callen Jenkins. In addition, she is remembered fondly by her step-siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her dear friends. Each of these loved ones carries forward the warmth, love, and kindness that Ashley so freely shared with the world
