Alma Lou (Ice) Taff, 92, of Rock Hill, SC, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 30, 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 24, 1933, in Mannington, WV, daughter of the late Rawley Dewey and Bessie Ice.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Taff, her sisters, Dale Marie Cattley, Betty Hoye, Nancy Toothman, Lena Jo Bereksazi, and Marth Kay Leeson: brothers Daniel Ice, Robert Ice, and Bert Ice.

She was born and raised on the family farm, built by her grandfather, in Mannington, WV. As a young woman she enjoyed delighting her nephews by getting her 1969 Pontiac LeMans up to speeds of 100 mph. She later slowed down to a more sedate lifestyle where upon retiring from TRW she moved with her husband to the quaint town of Rock Hill, NC. Once in Rock Hill, she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed her church community. She enjoyed gardening and canning, skills taught to her by her mother. She also made the best lime pickles.

Although she was not blessed with children of her own, she will always be cherished by her numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all those that enabled her to spend her final days at home. (You all know who you are.) Also, to all of her neighbors who were so helpful in watching over her when we were unable to be with her. Thank you can never begin to express how very grateful we are for all of your help. She was blessed to have so many caring people in her life.

Hers was a life well lived.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7th, from 1-2 pm at Inspiration Baptist Church on 921 Comer Rd. Rock Hill, SC, with a Celebration of Life to follow.
