Adron Taylor Smith, Jr.

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Adron TaylorSmith Jr., who passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Adron graduated from Central High School before serving proudly in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to dedicate more than 50 years to residential home design and building, leaving a lasting legacy across the Carolinas. Adron is survived by his sister, Janice Kerr of Charlotte, and his brother, Gayle Smith of Charlotte; his son, Adron T. “Rusty” Smith III (Karrie) of Clover, SC; grandsons, Chad Smith (Kacie) of Rock Hill, SC, and Brandon Smith (Brooks) of Dallas, NC; and three great-grandsons, Greyson, Dawson, and Rowan Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clafton Juanita Smith and Adron T. Smith, his brother, William Smith, and his lifelong partner, Carol Abramson, with whom he shared many years of love, devotion, and companionship. Adron will be remembered for his service, his integrity, and the countless homes and relationships he built that will endure for generations.
